The Operations Lead will be a key member of the Framingham MSAT group, serving as both the Safety Champion and the primary point of contact for facilities-related matters across all MSAT areas at the Framingham site. This role is central to fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting the success of the MSAT team. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Operations Lead will strengthen safety culture and compliance across MSAT, ensure coordination with facilities and support services, maintain communication flow and responsiveness within the department, and provide dependable operational support that enables the success of the MSAT team.

Main Responsibilities

Safety Champion:

  • Act as MAST’s key contact for the HSE team and all HSE-related topics and communications.

  • Monitor the area HSE dashboard (KPIs) and provide regular updates to MSAT managers.

  • Raise and escalate safety issues to area managers and the HSE team as needed.

  • Prepare for and actively participate in HSE audits and inspections.

  • Lead HSE workshops and coach managers and employees on performing Safety Rituals.

  • Organize immediate Gemba walks following events, ensuring the right stakeholders are involved.

 

Contractor Oversight:

  • Manage and oversee SOW contracts, including but not limited to CBRE, PPD, Eurofins, and ThermoSci.

  • Collaborate with area managers to support and deploy contract personnel effectively.

  • Work with MSAT staff to manage contractor’s daily activities and performance.

 

Facilities & Building Support:

  • Serve as the main contact with Framingham Facilities and building support teams.

  • Coordinate building support services, including, Work orders and tickets for Facilities and   Utilities, Cybersecurity support, and Shipping and logistics.

 

Departmental Communications:

  • Lead communications for safety and weather alerts, security updates, and cybersecurity notifications.

  • Ensure timely and clear dissemination of information across the department.

Operational Support:

  • Work closely with other members of the Operations Group to provide high-quality support to the MSAT team.

  • Ensure operational services are delivered consistently and effectively.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering / operations discipline.

  • Strongly preferred 8-10 years prior experience in managing facilities operations, preferably in biotech or pharmaceutical.

  • Strongly preferred 3+ years prior experience in people management; preferably in a matrixed environment.

  • Strongly preferred safety mind set, proactive and can act as a role model for others. Has a good understanding of current safety standards and guidelines.

Competencies/Skills

  • Strong negotiation skills required along with the ability to plan and organize using in-depth working knowledge.

  • Proven interpersonal skills with an emphasis on collaboration, mentorship, and team development.

  • Ability to evaluate service requests and develop collaborative solutions.

  • Knowledge of Facilities Operations techniques, engineering, and project management methodologies.

  • A dynamic approach and comfortable working in an agile environment.

  • Strong technical capabilities with high performance buildings and lab environments.

  • Experience working in a multi-team environment within a global framework.

  • Experience with facilities operations budget development and upkeep.

  • Good understanding of building readiness and handover in relation to facilities operations.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The salary range for this position is:

$122,250.00 - $176,583.33
