Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the MRO Buyer will be responsible procurement of necessary parts through external vendors. Represents the plant when interacting with external Contractors/Vendors. Works independently under general supervision on projects and tasks that are typically complex and require research, original thinking and action. General directions are given on unusual or new assignments; works cross-functionally on majority of activities.

As part of the Maintenance team you'll...

  • Lead customer contact for service technicians performing outsourced routine maintenance services (fire extinguisher inspections, hoist inspections, forklifts, compressor PM’s, HVAC PM’s, etc.)
  • Request rebuild quotes for common equipment with local repair shops.
  • Request spare part quotes from OEM’s based on maintenance needs.
  • Receive and process requests for purchases for parts and other items.
  • Enters purchase order data into JD Edwards for approval and assignment of Purchase Order by Corporate Purchasing.
  • Maintain all MRO-related documentation, including filing and purging as required, following corporate and company guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain inventory system using the CMMS program
  • Maintain stock levels of parts cage, critical process emergency stock, motor/gear box rack parts and the die shop maintenance part storage areas.
  • Execute contractor paperwork including new vendor onboarding, contractor safety paperwork and annual reviews
  • Communicate all quotes and cost information to the Maintenance Manager, as well as communicating order status to all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written, communication skills
  • Good computer skills (Outlook, Excel)
  • Basic math skills
  • Valid driver’s license (may be required to drive company truck to pick up parts)
  • Two to four hour intervals of sitting in back support chair performing paper work, having phone conversations, and performing basic job functions
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of organizational and time management skills.
