Sign on Bonus Eligible: $30,000 (3 year commitment)

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Performs prescribed MRI imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides support of coordination of staff and area functions as well as may serve as a physician liaison.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all essential job responsibilities of a MRI Technologist, including but not limited to performing age-specific diagnostic imaging per established protocols. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, physicians and other team members. Addresses patient and physician concerns. Responds to adverse events and/or any changes with patient's status. (50%)
  • Acts as a day –to- day mentor/resource for staff and others within the department. Orients and trains new staff and students. (20%)
  • Performs and/or trains others relative to quality assurance activities, quality control, and regulatory testing and accreditation preparation/documentation. (10%)
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of specialty exams and analyzes data promptly to resolve problems and improve efficiency. Enter new or edit existing MRI scanner protocols. (10%)
  • Participates in standardization activities and process improvement initiatives with system-level workgroups. (5%)
  • Coverage of chief tech duties as assigned (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum

  • Associate’s Degree; or Certification from a technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ARRT (MR) Radiography certification or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification.
  • 2 years of MRI Experience.
  • CPR – American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
