Job Title: MRI Technologist  

Full Time, 2nd Shift

**This is a Friday, Saturday and Sunday Position.      

The Radiology department encompasses a broad range of imaging techniques that use different forms of radiation or electromagnetic waves to visualize the internal structures of the body. X-Ray, CT scan, MRI          

Job Description:

With limited supervision, provides health care services and departmental efficiency in the MRI department using magnetic energy to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs MR related procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a Radiologist or a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure. Is responsible for managing the workflow of the department and will assume other responsibilities as requested.

Working Conditions: Exposure to extraneous rays from x-ray equipment may result in injuries such as burns, dermatitis, destruction of blood cells, and inhibition of glandular activities unless all precautions are taken. May be exposed to infectious disease due to patient condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing MR examinations under the guidance of the Radiologist or licensed independent provider.
  • Planning and executing the daily schedule and patient flow.
  • Documenting all incidents related to patient care in the electronic health record.
  • Adheres to established hospital and department guidelines and protocols.
  • Comply with the policies, principles, and activities established by the Code of Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Supports hospital mission, vision, values, Guest Relations Creed, and Performance Improvement Philosophy

Requirements:

  • MINIMUM associate’s degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registration or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Current Radiation Operators Certification with the Kentucky Department of Human Resources
  • Must meet guidelines set by the ACR and FDA
  • BLS required.
