Join an innovative and diverse team in Advanced Packaging Technology Development as a Metrology RDA Engineer, focusing on critical dimension metrology and defect analysis. Help create advanced solutions for complex IC packaging and 3DI projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze root causes and defects using SEM, OM, and EdX for troubleshooting.
  • Create scanning acoustic microscopy methods for engineering samples and inline BKM setup.
  • Work closely with different teams to support technology development and process integration. Participate in hands-on troubleshooting and offer technical support to solve challenging metrology issues in advanced packaging and 3DI process development.
  • Develop metrology recipes for engineering tasks and build BKM sets for critical dimension, thickness, and warpage.
  • Review defect maps and trends, address Lot Holds at MRDA stages and manage OOC events along with other day-to-day issues.
  • Take responsibility for developing inspection processes to meet technology roadmap goals.
  • Qualify new techniques like Automated Defect Classification in partnership with tool and software providers.
  • Spot areas for improvement and suggest creative solutions for roadmap challenges.
  • Plan and carry out experiments, collect data, and recommend inspection improvements.
  • Utilize manufacturing and data analysis tools such as GeRM, MES, MAM, SPC, CQ, JMP, Yield3, Klarity, and MS Office to execute SWR and analyze experiment results.
  • Assess process flows to uncover potential interdependencies or missing data.
  • Evaluate process and equipment capabilities to set up control limits for process stability.
  • Design quality assurance and control systems for new equipment and processes.
  • Document processes for handover to other R&D teams.
  • Manage tool procurement, covering identification, installation, and qualification of tools, while following DOC-2, SAC, FAC business procedures.
  • Understand how upstream and downstream processes affect one another and ensure all requirements are fulfilled.
  • Use KT or similar problem-solving and decision-making methods.
  • Work with vendors to define new technology needs and continuous improvement plans (CIP) for existing equipment.

  • Motivation to learn the details of processes and understand their broader impact.
  • Teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently when required.
  • Proficiency in communicating with engineers and technicians from different domains and sites.
  • Solid knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and device process flows.
  • Experience with applied statistics and advanced data analysis.
  • Keen attention to detail.

Education

The preferred candidate should have a Master's or Doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree and more than five years of relevant industry experience are also encouraged to apply.
