We are looking for a Mould Shop Supervisor to join the Mould Shop department at Sartorius. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Production Team in the Mould Shop to ensure smooth running of day-to-day production to meet agreed timelines and quality standards.
The team consists of 25 individuals across the shifts and you will manage professionals with a mixture of different roles who have varying responsibilities. We are looking forward to shaping the future with you.
This position is available full-time on a permanent basis and based on site in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. The role requires working a shift pattern to cover the production schedule: early shift - Monday to Thursday 5.30am – 2pm and Friday 6am – 11am, late shift – Monday to Thursday 2pm – 10pm and Friday 11am – 6pm, rotating on a weekly basis.
Our site in Stonehouse site is a manufacturer of plastic components and single – use products, such as lab scale bioreactors and filtration.
Grow with us – Your Responsibilities
On a daily basis you will be overseeing the mould shop team during your shift hours: productivity, discipline, time and attendance (authorization of time off requests)
Ensure all products that leave the mould shop are manufactured to the correct quality and specification
Liaise with Tool room to minimize tool failures and breakdowns
First line maintenance activities as specified within the planned maintenance guideline, assessing breakdowns and escalating issues when necessary
Efficiently set up and operate the mould machines and ancillary equipment
Promote a strong quality culture and importance of following procedures within the team leading by example to ensure compliance with quality systems and standards (ie.: ISO9001 and ISO13485)
Support in investigating quality concerns and discussing any potential issues with Production Engineers, Quality Engineers and Toolmakers
Working together with the other Supervisor on the opposite shift pattern to accurately schedule raw materials, mould machines and employees to achieve production targets in line with business requirements
Use Fastec system to record stoppages correctly and ensure the system is always operational
Plan in production qualification work
Submit first offs to quality.
Ensure only verified programs are used in production, that any process settings are only changed within specified guidelines and that all process changes are clearly recorded on QR – 182 and communicated
Deliver concise and thorough daily shift hand over meeting
To be the responsible person on site outside of main core business hours
Ensure all machines, dryers and ancillary equipment are serviced to our maintenance schedule
Maintain high levels of housekeeping in mould shop and material stores area and promote a safe and clean working environment
What will convince us
Completed Part 3 of Injection Moulding Module 3 or equivalent
Hands-on experience in plastic injection moulding, setting and operating machines, and troubleshooting quality issues
Machining experience capable of high tolerance work (Arburg or other types of machines)
Team Lead or Supervisory experience of a small team would be beneficial
Knowledge of manufacturing processes
Good IT skills: Microsoft Office Suite, SAP
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well within a team as well individually
Highly organised and strong attention to detail
