Job Summary: Nonsupervisory work involving the operation of gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles to haul cargo and/or transport passengers. The Primary Purpose of the Position is the operation of a diesel-powered truck tractor with up to a 53-foot semi-trailer in transporting laundry loads to and from the North, Central and South Texas VA Health Care Systems and Darnell Army Medical Center at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Good eye, body and limb coordination is necessary to properly operate vehicles. When assisting in loading and unloading, will be lifting heavy bags of linens (40-75 lbs.) and pushing heavily loaded carts of linens onto and off of trailers. Will require extensive stooping, bending, walking, lifting of supplies, equipment, etc., and pushing when performing tasks. May have to change or assist in changing a flat tire./Driving will be accomplished in congested city traffic and highways. Incumbent must stay alert to avoid accidents. Will be exposed to full range of weather conditions both good and bad. Must sit fir long periods of time when making deliveries.
