PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $21.20-$25.91 hourly. The full Pay Range is $21.11-$30.67 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. As a Mortgage Sales Assistant I, you’ll be the trusted partner who ensures every mortgage application moves smoothly and efficiently. Your work will empower members to achieve their homeownership dreams while supporting a high-performing sales team. From reviewing applications to coordinating events, you’ll be the backbone of a process that makes a real difference in people’s lives—and yours.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Ensure Accuracy: Review mortgage loan applications and supporting documents for completeness, making updates and providing feedback to loan originators or applicants when needed.
  • Keep Things Moving: Monitor daily reports for new applications, ensuring compliance and pricing integrity so every file stays on track.
  • Support the Pipeline: Order and gather essential items for loan submissions—think employment verifications, tax transcripts, and more—to keep the process seamless.
  • Champion Compliance: Manage pipeline exception reporting to uphold service and compliance standards.
  • Be the Go-To Resource: Provide coaching on processes and procedures, helping team members stay informed and confident.
  • Stay Connected: Respond to inquiries in central inboxes, review and upload documents, and keep communication flowing across the team.
  • Solve Challenges: Collaborate with the mortgage production team to troubleshoot and resolve administrative issues quickly and effectively.
  • Drive Engagement: Prepare marketing materials, assist with First-Time Homebuyer seminars, and help coordinate community events that strengthen member relationships.
  • Manage Leads: Assign online leads and applications to loan originators, ensuring timely follow-up and exceptional member experience.
  • Handle Key Details: Mail disclosures and decline letters within required timeframes, and engage with vendors for title, escrow, appraisal, and other critical services.
  • Maintain Standards: Review lead management systems to confirm department goals are consistently met.
  • Adapt and Contribute: Take on additional duties as assigned, always ready to support the team’s success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or associated Certification (GED) required.
  • Typically two years of advanced-level clerical work experience required.
  • Math skills, with a high degree of accuracy required.
  • Comply with SAFE Act legislation, which requires annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).

Desired Qualifications:

  • One year of experience working in a Mortgage Lending environment preferred.
  • Verbal and written skills to effectively communicate.
