The MEAL Specialist will design, implement, and manage monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems for LEAD Global programs. This role ensures that the programs’ impact are measured effectively, lessons are captured and shared, and evidence is used to guide decision-making, strengthen accountability, and improve practice across SIL and partner networks.Key Responsibilities
1 Promote a culture of reflection, evidence-based decision-making, and adaptive learning within LEAD Global.
Develop attainable MEAL frameworks, indicators, and tools appropriate to LEAD Global’s holistic, community-based
approach.
2 Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to assess program progress and impact.
Produce clear reports and visualizations that communicate findings to SIL leadership, partners, and funders; contribute to donor reports and funding proposals with accurate monitoring data.
3 Build MEAL capacity among SIL staff, partners, and community stakeholders.
Provide training and mentorship on monitoring and participatory evaluation methods.
Collaborate with partner organisations by sharing best practices and learning from each other.
4 Align LEAD Global’s MEAL systems with broader SIL and LEAD Global reporting requirements.
Ensure that sustainability, creation care, and community development outcomes are effectively tracked.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
A dedicated Christian committed to integrity, learning, and service.
Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation approaches, including participatory and mixed-methods.
Experience with data collection, management, and analysis (quantitative and qualitative).
Ability to present complex information in accessible, compelling formats.
Skilled in building capacity and enabling others in MEAL practices
Cross-cultural sensitivity and experience working in diverse contexts.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in remote, distributed teams.
Able to handle ambiguity and be flexible when plans change.
Education and Experience
Degree in international development, social sciences, statistics, environmental studies, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems, preferably in faith-based or community development contexts.
Experience working with international networks or multi-partner projects.
Familiarity with sustainability, agriculture, or creation care issues (preferred).
