Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms of an assigned patient population through continuous cardiac monitoring surveillance. This position generates, reads, and interprets monitor strip print-outs based on individual patient need/patient rhythm changes, promptly communicates changes in cardiac rhythms or dysrhythmias to the appropriate member of the health care team per unit protocol.

Job Description:

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience


CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • EKG-Technician


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

  • Prior experience working in an acute care facility as a monitor tech, or Unit Secretary / Nurse Aide preferred.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications/ equipment is required.
  • Under the direction of the RN,
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple demands in an ever changing environment.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills required.
  • The ability to operate computer equipment is required.
  • Requires attention to detail and ability to focus for extended periods in a high activity environment.
  • Requires problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Needs ability to efficiently and accurately input data into computer system.

Pay Range is $29.43 to $35.83 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
