The Role
As a Mongo Database Administrator at Kyndryl, you will be responsible for the administration, operation, and support of enterprise relational and non‑relational database environments, with a strong focus on MongoDB platforms. In this role, you will ensure the availability, performance, security, and reliability of business‑critical data platforms supporting customer operations.
You will work closely with global and cross‑functional teams to support production environments under strict service level agreements (SLAs), investigate and resolve incidents, and continuously improve database services in accordance with Kyndryl standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and operate MongoDB relational and non‑relational database environments, ensuring high availability and operational stability.
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database engines, including patching, hardening, and lifecycle management activities.
Monitor database performance and capacity, performing performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning.
Provide operational support for business‑critical production environments under SLAs, including monitoring, alert analysis, and troubleshooting of incidents.
Manage database security, backups, recovery, high availability solutions, and produce accurate technical documentation and operational standards.

Required Technical and Professional Experience
4+ years of experience in database administration and operations within enterprise or production environments.
Hands‑on experience administering MongoDB databases, including relational and non‑relational platforms.
Strong experience with database installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and hardening.
Proven knowledge of performance management, capacity planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Experience supporting production‑critical environments under SLAs.
Solid understanding of backup, recovery, high availability, security management (users, roles, permissions), and query optimization.
Experience creating technical documentation and supporting operational standardization.
Intermediate English proficiency, required for collaboration with global teams and technical documentation.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
MongoDB Associate DBA certification.
Experience working in large‑scale, enterprise, or regulated environments.
Familiarity with structured operational frameworks and service management practices.
Experience supporting complex application environments and data‑intensive platforms.
Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices.
