As a Molecular New Product Development Scientist, you will join our cross-functional research & development team focused on designing molecular diagnostics to advance our product pipeline. The scientist will build and test concept designs and work with the team to optimize performance through design changes and material selection. The successful candidate will be motivated, inquisitive, adaptable and excel in a highly collaborative environment.
Prepare materials, perform experiments, gather data, carry out initial analysis
Meticulous documentation of experiments and protocols
Collaboration within team environment, helping out colleagues as needed
Work cross-functionally on multi-disciplinary projects
Effectively communicate progress throughout the organization
BS in Biomedical Engineering, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline with at least 2+ years of relevant experience.
Strong familiarity with basic laboratory bench skills.
Basic understanding of experimental design and controls.
Enthusiasm for data analysis and strong problem-solving skills. Experience with JMP statistical software is beneficial.
Experience with developing and optimizing PCR based molecular diagnostic assays in a GMP/GLP environment.
Experience with DNA/RNA extraction from complex clinical sample types, including blood, serum, urine and feces.
Experience with or willingness to learn supporting processes including microbial culture, molecular cloning, and plasmid preparations.
Strong initiative, positive attitude, and flexibility to adapt experiment plans as new discoveries are made.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to maintain well-organized laboratory records.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Well-versed in safe laboratory practices.
Salary range starting at $80,000 based on experience
