KBR’s National Security Solutions team is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Subject Matter Expert to advance the development of modeling and simulation (M&S) standards and data management practices in support of the Department of the Air Force Chief Modeling and Simulation Office (CMSO). This position is ideal for a recognized technical leader with deep expertise in architecture, systems engineering, and M&S, who will provide thought leadership to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Develop, document, and promote standards and best practices for modeling and simulation, with a strong emphasis on data management and interoperability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the M&S team, leveraging expertise in architecture, systems engineering, and advanced simulation frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of M&S standards and data management initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in M&S and data management, and recommend adoption of innovative approaches.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials, technical documentation, and workforce development initiatives related to M&S standards.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Remote
  • Travel Requirements: 10-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related STEM field.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in modeling, simulation, and analysis for the DoD, Air Force, or related agencies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing M&S standards and data management practices.
  • Strong background in architecture, systems engineering, and mission-level modeling frameworks (e.g., AFSIM, JIMM, STORM, JSIMS).
  • Proficiency with model-based systems engineering tools and digital engineering environments.
  • Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance.

Desired:

  • Experience with the NATO Modeling and Simulation Group (NMSG)
  • Published work or presentations in M&S, data management, or systems engineering.
  • Proficiency in model-based systems engineering tools, such as CAMEO, and SysML
