The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural / Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer to support the development, evaluation, and optimization of structural designs for the U.S. Navy. This role involves creating detailed CAD models, performing advanced finite element analyses, and clearly communicating technical results to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, hands-on experience with FEA tools, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. This position is located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop detailed CAD models based on technical drawings and specifications (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Conduct finite element analyses and hand calculations to evaluate and detail structural designs.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations of structural analysis results for stakeholders
  • Develop and validate FEA models using software such as FEMAP, Hypermesh, or ANSYS.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize finite element models for performance
  • Conduct knowledge management by documenting modeling approach and methodologies
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in FEA techniques.


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain at least a SECRET Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering,  or a related field
  • 2+ years' experience with computer aided design (CAD) software, preferably with SolidWorks.
  • 2+ years' experience working with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software, preferably FEMAP but also HyperMesh or ANSYS.
  • 2+ years proven experience in finite element analysis, ideally in a relevant industry (e.g., defense contracting, aerospace, industrial design, marine engineering).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Desired:

  • Exposure to ship and submarine design concepts and terminology would be a plus.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$72,700 - $149,200
