Position Summary:

KBR, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) Division.  You will be responsible for providing expert-level model-based systems engineering and test and evaluation guidance on this complex program.  As part of your duties, you will ensure ABMS product lines are interoperable across the DAF BATTLE NETWORK as well as ensuring their interfaces to other service, DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) efforts in support of Joint All Domian Command and Control (JADC2) are engineered to ensure interoperability across joint and coalition forces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and develop products in Working Groups that address the design/development, production, and integration of ABMS systems.
  • Build an understand of the adversarial threats-based kill chains facing US assets.
  • Facilitate/develop/present resolution of issues related to system-of-systems integration.
  • Develop and maintain mission architecture interface requirements for ABMS programs.
  • Perform cross-mission area architecture development through the identification of potential synergies and efficiencies across multiple mission areas based off existing roadmaps and Program Directorate-developed architectures.
  • Evaluate and characterize the known trade-space and ensure requirements mapping of newly developed enterprise-level cross-mission area architectures.
  • Develop candidate architectures that resolve common functions into common/enterprise solutions and reduce the cost associated with acquiring and maintaining multiple systems to achieve the same function.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on data collected during system-of-systems integration events.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Systems Requirements synthesis (analyzing, decomposing, and managing T0-T2 level requirements)
  • Full lifecycle systems design following V-Model (covering all aspects of product development and lifecycle)
  • Model-based systems development using SysML (use cases, activity, sequence diagrams, state machines, etc.)
  • Familiar with creating and managing SRDs (system and component), ICDs, data dictionaries
  • Product traceability from objectives to requirements to detail designs to V&V activities, etc.
  • Be able to think creatively and offer grounded, out-of-the-box solutions when appropriate.
  • Provide expertise to support the CMSO technical vision and strategy.
  • Advise leadership on investment strategies and novel technology opportunities.
  • Promote and develop partnerships with industry, academia, and multinational partners.
  • Collaborate with military subject matter experts and program managers to characterize architectures and concepts under study in the simulation environment.

Work Environment:

  • On-site (Beavercreek, OH)
  • Travel Requirements: 10-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard – Core hours 0900 – 1500

Qualifications:

Required:

  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Experience with classified programs.
  • Independent problem solving with a variety of mission architecture systems engineering abilities, including knowledge and experience in requirements development and analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers and program stakeholders and have robust written and verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience in aerospace.
  • 3+ years of applied experience using Model-based System Engineering (MBSE) tools such as SPARX or CAMEO.
  • Experience with the NATO Modeling and Simulation Group (NMSG)
  • Proficiency in model-based systems engineering tools, such as CAMEO, and SysML
  • Mission Engineering experience is a plus.
  • Experience in Command Control Communication system design, development, production and acquisition.
  • Experience with technical mentorship.
  • Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Level 1 and 2.
