We are seeking an experienced Mobile Application React Native Developer to join our Bunnings Technology team.
About the role
A million ways to make an impact.
Our mobile apps are a key part of how millions of customers plan projects, find the right products and get things done. As a Mobile Application Developer at Bunnings, you’ll help shape those experiences from end to end - building intuitive React Native features and the TypeScript APIs that power them.
You’ll be part of a supportive, skilled engineering team that values curiosity, quality and shared ownership. We encourage experimentation, learning and thoughtful problem‑solving, all while Inspiring you to give it a red hot go.
What’s involved
You’ll have the opportunity to work across the full mobile and API stack, contributing to meaningful features that ship to production and scale with confidence.
- Designing and building customer‑facing functionality in our React Native apps, with a focus on performance, accessibility and clean user experiences
- Developing and evolving Node.js services written in TypeScript, including GraphQL APIs and well‑defined contracts between systems
- Collaborating closely with product managers, designers and engineers to clarify requirements and deliver practical, well‑considered solutions
- Writing high‑quality, maintainable code and contributing to code reviews that lift the whole team
- Building automated tests and helping investigate and resolve production issues when they arise
- Supporting iOS and Android delivery, working with native tooling and platform specialists as needed
- Taking part in agile ceremonies, technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Sharing knowledge and supporting teammates, helping create a culture of learning and trust
Along the way, you may also dip into adjacent technologies - whether that’s contributing to .NET services, thinking about cloud‑hosted APIs or helping improve how we monitor and operate our systems.
About you
You’re a mobile application developer who enjoys seeing how everything connects - from the UI in a customer’s hand to the APIs behind the scenes. You take pride in your craft, care about code quality and enjoy collaborating with people who bring different skills and perspectives.
You’re comfortable taking ownership of features, communicating clearly and balancing delivery with long‑term maintainability. You enjoy learning, staying current with React Native and backend practices, and you’re motivated by building software that makes life easier for customers and teammates alike.
What you’ll need
- 3+ years’ professional experience delivering React Native mobile applications to production
- Strong TypeScript skills across mobile and backend development
- Experience building and maintaining Node.js services and APIs, with GraphQL experience highly valued
- A solid understanding of HTTP, authentication patterns and pragmatic error handling
- Experience with Git, pull requests and collaborative code reviews
- A testing mindset, with hands‑on experience in unit and integration testing
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative, team‑first approach
Ready to join us? If you love building quality mobile apps and APIs in a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.
