Title: Team Lead
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Purpose of the Position:
A successful Team Lead I will demonstrate the ability to put people and process first at all times to ensure Milwaukee Tool’s unwavering devotion to a robust culture. This position is the standard bearer for who we are and the obsession we have with being the market leader in Hand Tools. A Team Lead I is charged with overseeing the safety, quality, productivity, and training linked to their assigned cost center. The ability to effectively communicate to the team is crucial to the continued success and development of the personnel and equipment managed. Through resourcing of materials, timely set-ups, and directing of equipment operators, the Team Lead I position is tasked with the short- and long-term success of their assigned equipment.
The position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Facilitate priorities based on direction of supervision
Is the primary developer of personnel on assigned equipment. Leads spot correction training, scheduled training, and identifies barriers to development of their team
Facilitate work instruction accuracy
Owner of the continued Lean/6S progression on their equipment
Constantly works to ensure equipment is exceeding performance metrics
Ensures timely job changeovers by utilizing team as effectively as possible
Coordinates with the Department Lead and Plant Supervisor to fulfil Work Orders
Maintains communication with Inventory Control, Purchasing, and Planning Teams to ensure materials are accurately utilized in an efficient manner.
Skills & Qualifications:
Mathematical and analytical skills
Possess proven mechanical ability or aptitude
Accuracy and attention to detail required
Prior training and development experience
Knowledge of automated systems or the willingness to learn
Education and/or Experience:
Associates Degree in Operations Field preferred
1-2 yrs. of production experience
Ability to interpret work instruction and use key performance indicators to enact change
Understanding of Lean/6S methodology
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The employee may be required to occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 70 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Occasional bending, crouching, twisting, reaching
Employees may be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain work cells
