The Integrated Solutions Modeling & Architecture (ISMA) Departments support customer focused mission modeling and simulation activities for all customer areas at Raytheon. Our teams develop, analyze, and create flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas such as sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics, and operations. We develop tools and methods to evaluate campaign, mission, and system level analysis and visualizations based on customer requirements. 

The Concept of Operations (CONOPS) Analysis section focuses on development of next generation CONOPS for new and existing systems. A blend of system architecture and modeling simulation, analysis techniques are used to communicate to the customer integrated weapon system performance and architecture advancements.  Mission Areas supported include Land Warfare & Air Defense, Naval Power, Air Power and Business Development. 

The CONOPS Analysis section is hiring for a Mission/Event Analyst, Systems Engineer II. This is an onsite role located in Woburn, MA.

 What You Will Do

  • This role is responsible for performing quick-turn event analysis products from the site system, as requested by the customer at weekly meetings. This involves creating a one-slide summary of the event information, and a detailed screenshot and/or video clip of what the system captured in real-time at site.
  • This role will be responsible for analyzing the recorded site data and creating a quick briefing on the event results. If the event was not captured by the system, this role is responsible for collecting raw data from site (e.g. signal processing, tracking, sounder), and collaborating with program Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to experiment with the playback process to understand why the event was missed. This role is also responsible for providing data dumps of event outputs to the customer and respective partners, as requested.
  • You will contribute your knowledge to execute complex tasking such as: 
    • Understanding of the site Postgres database where all site generated data is stored in real-time.
    • Understanding of the site data repository, to download event data locally for future playback runs.
    • Querying specific (time-based) subsets of data, and analyzing the results in a visualization tool (e.g. Analytic Display).
    • Creating customer-level one-pager vignettes with detailed screenshots and information of event summaries.
    • Tracking specific dates and results for future reference.
    • Understanding all processes and running playback service.
    • Working with SMEs to understand event outcomes and work on next steps.
    • Accessing CNet, SIPR, and/or JWICS intel sources.
    • Presenting results to the customer at weekly meetings.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience modeling and/or simulating physical systems.
  • Experience with Python
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Degree / Advanced Degree in one of the following majors: Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Applied Math, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Knowledge of the system engineering life-cycle model.
  • Experience in data analysis and statistics with large volumes of data.
  • Experience with networking and diagnosing system element health and status.
  • Visualization tools (e.g. Analytic Display).
  • Customer-level vignette creation in PowerPoint.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
