The Salvation Army (Salvos) Armadale Corps is a Christian Church in the heart of Armadale. As a Ministry Assistant, this is your opportunity to forge relational connections with the young people, administration, run appropriate programmes such as Youth PLP and Youth Alpha etc as well as formal and informal support for young people. There will be a focus on community engagement along with parents/carers givers of Alta-1 students.
Reporting to the Major/Mission Leader, fixed term position offering 15 hours per week.
Build supportive connections with young people within the HUB
Run suitable programmes such as Youth PLP and Youth Alpha
Source and facilitate suitable material for faith development
Involvement in the HUB life (discussed and agreed with line manager)
Work with a high level of autonomy and accountability
Develop skills and build experience in facilitation of ministry, programs and group activity with young people.
Participate in chaplaincy training and supervision sessions as required (e.g., PLP facilitator training, pastoral supervision).
Experience in working with vulnerable people would be helpful
Experience in the education field would be helpful but not essential (eg Education Assistant, Teacher, School Chaplain)
First aid
Certificate IV in Youth Work or Community Services is preferred
Drivers Licence
