Hendrick Technical Solutions is a growing engineering and manufacturing group supporting defense and advanced technology programs. We are seeking a Mil-Spec Wiring Technician to support both production builds and rapid prototype development in a fast-paced environment.
This role operates within a hands-on, mission-critical setting where technicians work closely with engineering to build, modify, and troubleshoot complex wiring and mechanical/robotic systems. This unique environment combines the agility and innovation typical of a startup with the stability, proven culture, and established resources of Hendrick.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and assemble mil-spec wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical/robotic systems
- Interpret and work from: Engineering Drawings, Wiring Schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Perform precision soldering, crimping, stripping, and termination to applicable military and industry standards
- Support prototype builds by working directly with engineering and providing DFM feedback
- Modify and rework assemblies as designs evolve (non-repetitive production environment)
- Perform continuity testing, insulation resistance checks, and troubleshooting
- Maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness, and documentation
- Manage multiple builds simultaneously in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume environment
This role requires adaptability—technicians will regularly shift between production and prototype work where documentation may be incomplete or evolving.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with: Crimping (D-sub, circular connectors such as MIL-DTL-38999, Deutsch, or similar), Shielding, grounding, and EMI mitigation techniques, Harness routing, lacing, and heat shrink applications (Raychem preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and wiring diagrams independently
- Experience using: Wire strippers, crimp tools, soldering stations, Multimeters and continuity testers
- Proven ability to work effectively in a rapid-change environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- High School Diploma
