The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Mid-Level Technical Project Manager to join the Contact Center Technologies group. You will be instrumental in driving both Build-the-Business and Run-the-Business initiatives. You will develop robust implementation plans as well as remediation plans to address challenges in quality, schedule, and cost. This role requires close partnership with leadership to maintain program momentum encompassing the compilation and organization of comprehensive status reports and all financial data for monthly reviews and other essential reporting cadences.
Participates in the planning, execution and delivery of moderately complex to complex technical projects within the IT organization, under minimal supervision. Manages risk by using established project management processes to address execution challenges associated with quality, schedule and cost. Leads and manages projects to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives. Serves as a resource to less experienced team members on escalated issues of a routine nature. Collaborates with key stakeholders and work efforts teams to ensure objectives are met.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based out of San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Plans, directs and coordinates activities for moderately complex work efforts through the development plans intended to accomplish goals and objectives within prescribed timeframes and budgets.
Facilitates development of project plans related to schedule, budget, scope and resources.
Monitors project execution to deliver incremental business value and seeks creative technical alternatives to project challenges.
Assists in managing risk by using work efforts management practices to address execution challenges associated with quality.
Manages project deliverables to control scope and influence sequencing and scheduling of work within a project.
Identifies and mitigates project technical risk and operational impact.
Partners with business and facilitates identification of technical requirements to clearly articulate requirements and acceptance criteria of project.
Establishes overall project cadence for communication with impacted stakeholders, and provides framework for underlying project(s) communication plans.
Participates in work effort closure activities to determine benefit / business impact realization.
Adheres to governance rigor and EPMO processes, procedures, controls, standards, tools and templates (as required).
Leverages existing change management routines as needed.
Understands each project's critical path activities and contributes to risk management efforts on the project and consistently seeks creative technical alternatives, including emerging technologies, to project challenges.
Contributes to the process of defining project plans and project deliverables.
Actively applies a variety of product capabilities to the benefit of the project sponsors, and senior managers on all aspects of the project.
Engages in identifying and removing obstacles and impediments to ensure team objectives are met.
Partners with business to clearly articulate technical requirements and acceptance criteria of project.
Participates in producing work efforts budgets.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
4 years of experience managing or leading projects or serving in a project management type role.
Proficient knowledge of project management methodology and/or working knowledge of technical software delivery life cycle.
Proficient knowledge of applicable business line, its products and processes as it relates to technical management, delivery and execution.
Proficient knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and applies to projects.
Proficient knowledge of project methodologies (Agile and Waterfall) and understands how to select appropriate methodology for execution.
Experience in project management and execution experience delivering complex work efforts working with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Proficient knowledge of tools and techniques that may include SDLC knowledge, technical acumen and software delivery methods.
Ability to articulate high level context of IT projects with stakeholders and others.
What sets you apart:
Demonstrated familiarity with contact center technologies and platforms.
Strong proficiency in Clarity, Jira and Agile methodologies.
Applied skills in pivot tables, scenario analysis, data organization, and complex calculations, with excellent proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
Solid understanding of managing the lifecycle of epics, from definition and breakdown to execution and closure, within a project or product context.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning software, and time-tracking tools.
Proven ability to understand and manage the financial aspects of both project-based (new initiatives) and operational (ongoing) activities.
Articulate technical requirements, manage diverse stakeholders, and ensure project objectives are met through clear communication, project briefings, knowledge articles, and change management artifacts.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450- $197,730.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
