10The Role: Power BI/Microsoft Fabric Administrator
The Team: The Business Intelligence team is part of the Platforms & Tools (P&T) organization and operates within the Portfolio Tools & Business Intelligence ART. The team is responsible for building, operating, and governing enterprise‑wide BI and analytics platforms, including Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, enabling trusted data access and insight delivery across DTS and business teams.
The team focuses on platform reliability, scalability, security, automation, and governance, working closely with data engineering, product, and platform teams to support modern analytics, compliance requirements, and AI‑ready data initiatives across the organization.
The Impact: This role has a direct impact on the stability, scalability, and governance of S&P Global’s enterprise analytics platforms within the Platforms & Tools organisation. By owning the administration and optimisation of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, the role enables reliable, secure, and compliant insight delivery across multiple DTS and business teams.
The position supports strategic P&T objectives by improving platform reliability, driving automation, strengthening governance and observability, and enabling AI‑ready and self‑service
analytics. Through effective capacity management, monitoring, and operational excellence, the role helps ensure that analytics platforms can scale sustainably while supporting modern data, reporting, and AI initiatives across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:
Administer and govern Power BI Service and Microsoft Fabric environments, including workspaces, datasets, dataflows, and gateways.
Manage Power BI Premium and Fabric capacities, monitoring utilisation and optimising cost.
Define and enforce security, governance, and compliance standards including RLS, OLS, RBAC, audit logs, and sensitivity labels.
Monitor platform health and troubleshoot issues using Admin APIs, Usage Metrics, and Log Analytics (KQL).
Automate administrative tasks using Power BI/Fabric APIs, PowerShell, and scripting to improve operational efficiency.
Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies for BI artefacts across environments.
What We’re Looking For:
Core Qualifications
6–10 years of overall experience in enterprise Business Intelligence, analytics platform administration, or data platform operations, with a strong focus on Power BI Service and Microsoft Fabric administration (not limited to report development).
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Strong foundation in programming or scripting languages such as C#, Java, Python, or equivalent, with practical experience using code for automation, integrations, or platform operations.
Proven hands‑on experience in Power BI tenant‑level administration, including workspace management, gateways, security, governance, monitoring, and capacity optimization.
Technical & Platform Skills
Solid understanding of BI security, governance frameworks, and enterprise monitoring
Hands‑on experience with Power BI REST APIs, PowerShell automation, and enterprise monitoring tools.
Experience with Power BI Premium / Fabric capacities, performance monitoring, and cost optimisation strategies.
Understanding data modelling, DAX, SQL, and modern data architectures; exposure to Databricks / Spark is a plus.
Soft Skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage business and technical stakeholders
Proactive ownership mindset with a focus on platform reliability and continuous improvement
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, data, and analytics teams
Professional presentation and stakeholder‑management capabilities
