MICAR Compliance Specialist

Your Mission

As MiCAR Compliance Specialist, you will play a central role in upholding and enforcing a high-standard regulatory compliance culture across the organisation. You will ensure that the company adheres to all its obligations under the MiCAR, its national implementations and other relevant supervisory requirements. This includes establishing a strong second line of defence, acting independently from operational functions and being the key point of contact for regulatory compliance and governance, while supporting the respective Compliance officers. Your position is critical in ensuring that internal practices, policies and controls not only meet but exceed expectations, supporting Bitpanda’s sustainable growth and reputation as a trusted operator in the crypto-asset and financial services space.

 

 

• MiCAR Framework & Implementation: Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of MiCAR requirements across relevant entities. Assist CPL Officers in translating regulatory obligations into internal policies, procedures, and controls, and contribute to regulatory gap analyses and remediation tracking.
  
  
• Regulatory & Supervisory Management: Ensure timely and accurate regulatory submissions, notifications, and reporting under MiCAR. Support supervisory interactions, prepare documentation for competent authorities, and coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries.
  
  
• Monitoring, Controls & Governance: Support the embedding of MiCAR requirements into the internal control framework. Perform independent checks and control reviews, maintain compliance trackers, and contribute to internal compliance reporting and governance oversight.
  
  
• Regulatory Analysis & Change Management: Monitor MiCAR Level 2/3 developments (RTS, ITS, ESMA/EBA guidance), assess regulatory impact, and support practical implementation across functions. Summarize regulatory updates and contribute to structured change management processes.
  
  
• Operational Compliance Support & Culture: Provide regulatory support to CPL Officers, maintain documentation and audit trails, and promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and regulatory awareness across the organisation.

 

Who you are

• Qualified & Experienced: Degree in Law, Business, Finance, Compliance or related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial regulation, compliance, or crypto regulation. Proven involvement in regulatory projects and implementation workstreams within financial services, fintech or crypto environments.
• MiCAR & Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of EU financial market regulation, with familiarity or practical experience in MiCAR considered a significant asset. Exposure to supervisory interactions and regulatory reporting processes, with the ability to navigate complex multi-entity regulatory environments.
  
  
• Structured & Operationally Minded: Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear, operationally feasible processes and controls. Experienced in supporting the implementation of compliance frameworks. Strong analytical capabilities with a high level of accuracy in documentation.
  
  
• Passion for crypto-assets and/or financial regulation: strong interest in crypto-assets and/or financial regulation. Highly motivated to deepen expertise, embrace new challenges, and grow within a steep learning curve in a fast-moving regulatory environment.
• Clear & Trustworthy Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex regulatory requirements in a comprehensible manner, including a professional approach when interacting with internal stakeholders and supervisory authorities. German skills is a strong asset.
