Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities for Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHCs) to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient container operations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervise preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of Mobile Harbour Cranes, spreaders, and auxiliary systems
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with OEM standards, statutory requirements, and terminal procedures
- Prioritize and close defects raised from statutory inspections and examiner defect lists
- Provide planning input on manpower, spare parts, tools, and task sequencing to minimize downtime
- Monitor equipment performance and initiate proactive maintenance actions
- Lead and supervise crane technicians, electricians, and mechanics, ensuring effective task allocation and handovers
- Analyze breakdowns, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Track and review maintenance KPIs including availability, MTBF, MTTR, and PM/CM ratios
- Enforce HSE standards, including toolbox talks, risk assessments, and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic crane systems
- Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and external service providers for complex technical interventions
- Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability of critical components while optimizing stock levels
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and work orders within the CMMS
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including RCM practices, Kaizen activities, and process optimisation
- Support alignment between maintenance, operations, safety, and planning teams
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a technically strong and hands‑on maintenance supervisor who can deliver reliable crane performance while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Mechatronics
- 5–8 years’ experience in port equipment maintenance, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role
- Hands‑on experience with Mobile Harbour Cranes (e.g. Liebherr, Gottwald, Konecranes)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical drives, motors, and crane control systems
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation
- Familiarity with CMMS and structured maintenance reporting
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 port environment, including shift and emergency call‑out support
