Mgr/Third-Party Risk

Enterprise and Operational Risk partners with UMB management in its obligation to effectively manage operational, compliance and other related risks within the UMB family of corporations. 

This team provides timely, accurate, and seasoned judgment related to operational, regulatory compliance risk, suggests strategies for mitigating risk, promotes a strong culture of risk management, and fulfills regulatory expectations of administering effective risk management frameworks, compliance monitoring and other mandated programs. 

The Manager of Third-Party Risk represents a leadership role within the Enterprise Risk Management Department and is responsible for the continued development, implementation and management of third-party risk management policy and framework and third-party analyst staff.  The role will work in collaboration with the lines of business and functional stakeholders (i.e., information security, compliance, contracts, legal, etc.) to identity and assess risks related to various third-party relationships and aid in the implementation of solutions to address said risks. This role oversees enterprise, entity, and component level risk assessments of third-party service providers with respect to the third-party framework

How you’ll spend your time:  

  • You will define and provide leadership for third-party risk management activities, including but not limited to operational risk, insurance, and assists in regulatory compliance for third-party relationships.
  • You will implement and maintain tools, processes, and metrics in support of monitoring policy compliance, standards and applicable compliance requirements for third-party relationships.
  • You will oversee and direct periodic risk assessment activities in coordination with other risk assessment processes performed by other internal organizations, including but not limited to on-site assessments of third-party firms.
  • You will work with the Business Units, Functions and the Sourcing Organization to maintain list of third-party vendor and service provider relationships impacting critical activities.

 We’re excited to talk with you if you have:  

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • You have at least six (6) years of  related experience in 6 years related working in audit program development, internal control consulting, process improvement, or risk management utilizing various automated tools and techniques
  • You possess a solid understanding of Enterprise Risk
  • You have at least three (3) years experience in a people management role

Bonus Points if you:

  • Industry certification in 1 or more of the following: Certified Third Party Risk Professional (CTPRP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM)

Compensation Range:

$83,200.00 - $178,800.00

The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
