Manages the plant quality assurance function as directed.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, participating in monthly safety meetings, performing monthly safety inspections, and investigating accidents, as required.
Oversees the maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Follows company policies, standard operating procedures (SOP), practices and Sonoco’s Global Code of Conduct.
Plans, develops, applies & maintains Quality Systems ensuring conformance to Customer, internal business, and regulatory requirements.
Develops and implements comprehensive quality assurance strategies and monitors manufacturing processes to ensure product safety, integrity, and compliance with established standards.
Ensures appropriate use of Quality tools & techniques (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, DMAIC, Lean, etc.)
Leads and manages a team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve departmental objectives.
Oversees, facilitates, and drives quality root cause analysis and data driven problem solving methodologies.
Supports, facilitates, and drives continuous improvement activities.
Manages, drives, and supports Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) to increase first pass yield while also reducing Customer Complaints, scrap, and inspection costs.
Leads and drives the Plant from reactionary Quality to preventive Quality.
Coordinates internal and external audits to assess compliance with SQF standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Other duties as assigned.
This position is located at our Columbus, Ohio.

Possess Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Experience and knowledge of value stream mapping and other lean techniques.
Experience and knowledge of Minitab or equivalent statistical software.
Experience and knowledge of Infinity QS or equivalent SPC software.
Experience and knowledge of pFMEAs and Control Plans.
Ability to lead and drive gage & process capability and performance improvement.
Strong and proven leadership to drive to closure RCA and CAPA.
Experience and knowledge of ISO or equivalent Quality Systems (Lead Auditor).
Ability to negotiate with Customers to promote or sell ideas and concepts.
Proficient in implementing 5S principles for efficient workplace organization and process optimization.
Ability to effectively instruct and train other employees.
Ability to wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices.

Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from $102,240 to $115,020, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
