Sunday – Thursday 1030pm – 7am (15% shift differential)

The Multi Skill-Craft Technician will perform highly diversified duties that encompass both Multi Skill and Electrician responsibilities. This position provides key technical assistance and oversight to maintenance personnel in diagnosing, troubleshooting, determining root causes of failures, and eliminating simple to complex equipment problems. As a crucial member of the Plant Engineering Team, you will provide first response technical support for maximizing equipment uptime, troubleshoot equipment failures while analyzing performance, and suggest design improvements to enhance the reliability of our assets.

Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve mechanical equipment and components including pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, vacuums, transmissions, and drive components
• Repair, maintain, and improve systems components including drive control components, I/Os, PLCs, controls programming, propane systems, and networks
• Maintain complex electronic equipment and components, including circuit boards, data systems, safety equipment, and software
• Plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and electrical codes
• Conduct basic machining and welding tasks
• Perform Preventive, Predictive, and Emergency Maintenance on all facilities and manufacturing equipment with minimal supervision
• Lead or contribute to Manufacturing Conscious Engineering by participating in development and coordination of engineering projects
• Mentor and provide guidance to electricians and multi-skill technicians

• Participate in Lean events, PHAs, root cause analysis sessions, and create MOCs, WIMS, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two-year technical degree or certificate program in an engineering-related field (Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Robotics & Automation, etc.) or in the last 6 months of pursuing such a degree

  • 3-5 years Industrial Maintenance Exp preferred

  • Possess or be in the process of pursuing a State of Connecticut Electrician's license

    • Strong understanding of PLC programming, drive controls, site HMI operations, and mechanical design & operations (hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes, lubrication, etc.)

    • Proficiency in reading, understanding, and updating electrical and mechanical prints

    • Good understanding of computer and network fundamentals

    • Basic understanding of predictive/preventative maintenance and condition monitoring techniques

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify root causes of issues

    • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

    • Willingness to work overtime as required

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent

    • Strong mathematical skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional certifications, military background, or AS/BS degree

    • Knowledge and experience in materials characterization

    • CT/MA Electrician's license

    • Experience in a manufacturing plant environment

    • Lean and/or Six Sigma training and certification

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $34.91–$44.00.
