Position Purpose:

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Care Coordinator to join the Surgical Services Team!

At Saint Alphonsus, the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS) Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating bariatric patient care with providers, triaging bariatric patients (telephonically/in-person), conducting pre-visit chart reviews to assess and anticipate bariatric patient care needs, developing and providing patient education, coordinating care across the continuum, and supporting quality improvement activities within the practice at Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Metabolic and Bariatric Center.

Schedule Information: This position is Full time position Monday through Friday.   

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed in the state of Idaho as a Health Care Professional (RN/Dietician/PA/PT).

  • Licensed in the state of Oregon as a Health Care Professional (RN/Dietician/PA/PT) within 6 months of hire.

  • Bachelor's of Science in certified field preferred.

  • Registration as an MBS Coordinator preferred.

  • Three years of direct patient care experience desirable.

  • Knowledge of performance improvement, billing, coding, and documentation requirements highly desired.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based methodologies.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing, and computer skills are essential with the ability to relate and motivate effectively with patients and clinical staff.

  • Works in coordination with all MBS team members including PSRs, MAs and bariatric insurance coordinator to provides high quality, compassionate and seamless care for our bariatric patients.

  • Assists/develops written protocols and education of nurses detailing the rapid communication and basic response to critical vital signs that is specifically required to minimize delays in the diagnosis and treatment of serious adverse events for the metabolic and bariatric population.

  • Manages internal bariatric patient data base for all bariatric patients in their preoperative and postoperative journey.
