Summary  

The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of MES solutions to optimize manufacturing operations for product customization and support global customization expansion. This role will focus on creating modular, scalable architectures that enable flexible product configurations and seamless integration with third-party logistics (3PL) providers. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Architecture & Design  

  • Define and document MES architecture aligned with global customization strategies. 
  • Design modular MES frameworks to support product variability and regional customization. 
  • Ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of MES solutions. 

Integration  

  • Architect MES integrations with ERP, PLM, SCADA, and 3PL systems to enable end-to-end visibility. 
  • Configure MES modules for dynamic workflows and multi-site operations. 

Implementation & Support  

  • Lead MES deployment projects, including configuration, testing, and validation. 
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and performance optimization. 

Strategy & Leadership  

  • Drive MES technology roadmap to support global expansion and customization initiatives. 
  • Mentor technical teams and provide training on MES best practices. 
     

Documentation & Communication  

  • Prepare architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and progress reports. 
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and project teams. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 10+ years in MES implementation and architecture. 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent years of relevant experience  

  • Proven experience designing modular MES solutions and integrating with 3PL systems. 

  • Strong understanding of MES principles, manufacturing processes, and Industry 4.0 concepts. 

  • Proficiency in database management, scripting, and system administration. 

  • ERP, PLM, and shop-floor system integration experience. 

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. 

  • MESA International Certificate of Competency (CoC) for MES/MOM Methodologies is a plus. 

  • APICS CPIM or equivalent is a plus.
