Merges & Acquisitions (M&A) and Strategy Manager, Eastern Europe and Mediterranean

We are seeking an experienced Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Strategy Manager to join our Strategy & Transformation team, supporting business growth across 16 countries in Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean. In this strategically significant role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the regional M&A strategy in alignment with overall business objectives. Your responsibilities will include managing the M&A portfolio, overseeing acquisition and integration processes, and ensuring adherence to best practices and governance standards. You will collaborate closely with regional leadership and key business lines to identify opportunities, assess organizational performance, and drive initiatives that enable sustainable growth and transformation.

In more detail, the main responsibilities in the role will include:  

  • Define and drive the M&A strategy for KONE Eastern Europe and Mediterranean in collaboration with regional and Europe Area Strategy & Transformation teams.

  • Research markets, identify acquisition opportunities, and build a strong pipeline.

  • Lead M&A projects, support negotiations, and provide consultancy to local teams.

  • Develop business cases, assess risks, and ensure benefit realization post-integration.

  • Manage M&A and integration processes, including change management for high engagement.

  • Oversee the portfolio of ongoing projects and collaborate with legal, regional, and country teams.

  • Build and maintain strong internal and external networks.

What we would expect from you:  

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in M&A (industry, investment banking, private equity, Big 4 consulting, or similar).

  • Experience in strategic advisory or related roles is a plus.

  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including cash flow modeling and valuation.

  • Project management expertise and ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Fluent English; additional languages are an asset.

  • Relevant academic degree.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • International experience and willingness to travel.

  • High ethical standards and sound judgment.
