About the role
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Merchandising Specialist to join our team at Careem Groceries in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role plays a key part in bringing the in-app customer experience to life by combining strong merchandising execution with operational excellence.
You will be responsible for configuring, managing, and optimizing the in-app storefront experience across Careem Groceries, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless, compelling, and conversion-driven user journey for customers across Saudi Arabia.

What you'll do

  • Manage the in-app storefront including the homepage, category landing pages, and promotional carousels.
  • Configure and execute merchandising campaigns using internal merchandising tools, ensuring accurate and timely deployment.
  • Support the setup and troubleshooting of merchandising configurations (basic coding knowledge is a plus).
  • Curate and implement merchandising strategies aligned with business goals, seasonality, and customer insights in the Saudi market.
  • Ensure smooth execution of promotional campaigns and the merchandising calendar.
  • Analyze user behavior, product performance, and merchandising metrics to guide in-app improvements.
  • Use analytics to improve product discovery, engagement, and conversion rates across key surfaces in the app.
  • Track campaign performance and iterate based on insights.
  • Work closely with Category Management, Growth, Marketing, Catalog, and Design teams to coordinate campaigns and launches.
  • Act as a key point of contact across teams to ensure alignment on merchandising plans and product content updates.
  • Manage the configuration and synchronization of in-app content to ensure consistency across app experiences.
  • Ensure timely and accurate setup of product launches, campaigns, and feature updates.
  • Monitor merchandising tools and flag operational inefficiencies to improve processes.
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, including campaign launches and merchandising updates.
  • Support the development of SOPs and documentation for merchandising operations and content governance.
  • Use customer feedback and market insights to identify new merchandising opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Growth and Category teams to improve app usability, product discovery, and customer engagement.

What you'll need

  • Experience: Background in e-commerce, retail, or marketplace operations.
  • Basic Coding Knowledge: Familiarity with basic coding concepts to support merchandising configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to proactively identify issues and work collaboratively to resolve them.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when executing merchandising setups and monitoring performance.
  • Customer Focus: Customer-centric mindset when shaping the in-app experience.
  • Quality Assurance: Familiarity with QA processes to ensure high-quality execution of campaigns and product launches.
  • Continuous Learning: Interest in staying updated on e-commerce trends and best practices in merchandising and product operations.
