THE ROLE   

The Merchandise Operations Coordinator works closely with the Merchandise Director and Buyer to support merchandise operations at Yankee Stadium. This is an entry-level, part-time hourly role designed for someone looking to grow within the company. The position is fully on-site and primarily focused on product tracking, procurement coordination, and operational support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Buyer with developing, sourcing, and procuring classification merchandise, corporate fulfillment, and custom products.
  • Support procurement functions, including product tracking and basic purchase order management.
  • Manage the return process for damaged, incorrect, or unwanted products; assist with resolving purchase order discrepancies and missing packing lists.
  • Monitor stock and inventory levels by re-ordering, maintaining, or discontinuing products and communicating updates as needed.
  • Compile, input, and distribute product information for recaps, updates, and internal reviews.
  • Create and input SKU numbers for merchandise.
  • Prepare and manage work and sales orders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system; Retail Cloud preferred.
  • Support the Marketing Department in updating and managing merchandise website content.
  • Assemble sales presentations and coordinate customer mailings.
  • Assist with basic financial or budgeting tasks as needed.
  • Must be available to travel to team events if required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or equivalent; or four years of retail-related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with pivot tables and cross-comparisons preferred.
  • Experience with Retail Cloud software preferred.
  • Excellent data entry skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of financials/budgeting preferred.
  • Basic understanding of procurement processes preferred.
  • Photoshop skills are a plus.
  • Interest in fashion merchandising is a plus.
  • Knowledge of sports licensing is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Part-time hourly role; maximum 40 hours per week.
  • Available to work weekends and events as needed.
  • Fully on-site at Yankee Stadium

COMPENSATION

$25.00/hour
