MEP Maintenance Engineering Manager

What this job involves:

As a Technical Manager at JLL, you will serve as an engineering and facilities management expert who fosters strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors while managing multiple sites and projects, guiding and mentoring team members, and driving innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence. You will manage and maintain mechanical, electrical, and MEP systems including HVAC, lighting, and water supply systems while overseeing the maintenance and repair of building equipment including elevators, generators, and fire suppression systems. This role involves developing and implementing energy-efficient solutions to reduce energy consumption and costs while conducting regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards and maintenance issues. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on client projects and renovations while communicating with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide solutions, continuously improving systems and saving costs for clients while identifying opportunities to provide additional services, directly contributing to JLL's mission of delivering exceptional technical facility management through engineering expertise, innovative solutions, and comprehensive building systems management that ensures operational excellence and client satisfaction.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Manage and maintain mechanical, electrical, and MEP systems including HVAC, lighting, and water supply systems while overseeing maintenance and repair of building equipment
  • Develop and implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce energy consumption and costs while conducting regular inspections to identify safety hazards and maintenance issues
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on client projects and renovations while communicating with stakeholders to understand needs and provide solutions
  • Continuously improve systems and save costs for clients while identifying opportunities to provide additional services and developing innovative solutions
  • Implement energy-efficient practices and technologies while monitoring and analyzing energy consumption data for developing cost reduction strategies
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for facility operations and maintenance while controlling expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to facilities management team while boosting staff satisfaction and morale through effective team management
  • Foster culture of safety, quality, and customer service while developing and implementing training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree/diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience in facility management or related technical role
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices with familiarity with energy management principles and sustainability practices
  • Experience with project management and budget control while demonstrating excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage and maintain mechanical, electrical, and MEP systems including HVAC, lighting, and water supply systems effectively
  • Experience overseeing maintenance and repair of building equipment including elevators, generators, and fire suppression systems
  • Skills in developing and implementing energy-efficient solutions while conducting regular inspections to identify safety hazards and maintenance issues
  • Ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on client projects while communicating effectively with stakeholders to understand needs
  • Experience developing and managing annual budgets for facility operations with ability to control expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems with experience with green building practices and LEED certification processes
  • Understanding of IoT and smart building technologies with ability to implement innovative solutions for energy management and operational efficiency
  • Experience fostering strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors while managing multiple sites and projects effectively
  • Background in guiding and mentoring team members while driving innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in facility management environments
  • Knowledge of energy consumption data monitoring and analysis with experience developing strategies to reduce energy costs and environmental impact
  • Understanding of financial reporting and forecasting related to facility management with experience preparing comprehensive operational reports
  • Experience developing and implementing training programs to enhance facilities management team skills and knowledge across diverse technical systems.
