Description:

Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Mental Health worker to join our team of mission-driven healthcare professionals located on our Behavioral Health Unit located at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT.

The Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Tech is key role to keep patients engaged in recovery-oriented activities, help to communicate patient’s needs to the clinical team, to monitor patient safety and to work with the nursing professionals to create a healing environment for patients.

You Will Be Responsible For: 

  • Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.
  • Observes patient behavior.
  • Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs.
  • Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks.
  • Provides group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation.

Requirements:

  • Education:   High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
  • Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers 
  • Experience: Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals.
  • Prior experience in psychiatric setting a plus. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.  Maintain confidentiality.  Good problem-solving skills.
