Job Summary
The Member Preferred Repair Representative supports the Auto Physical Damage Operation and is responsible for managing a group of repair facilities that estimate repair costs and repair vehicle damage related to insurance claims. This role is responsible for ensuring program shops are providing accurate estimates, following correct procedures and industry standards, and ensuring members are provided with a timely and exceptional repair experience. They will be responsible for on-site re-inspections at program repair facilities. The use of virtual inspection tools may occasionally be utilized. They will be required to coach and provide feedback to assigned shops on performance and improvements identified, as well as provide support. The ideal candidate will have experience in auto damage estimation and experience with Direct Repair Programs. Relevant industry certifications, such as I-CAR Gold, are preferred.
Job Duties
Conduct thorough re-inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of damage resulting from covered losses. Proficiency in body, refinish, mechanical, and structural/frame related repairs a must.
Provide feedback to partner repair facilities on opportunities identified as a result of file audit or reinspection.
Ensure shop is completing timely and quality repairs, by providing training and coaching as needed.
Monitor shop inventory and capacity to ensure repairs are progressing forward appropriately.
Communicate effectively with vehicle owners, repair facilities, and claims adjusters to facilitate the claims process.
Verify and interpret/resolve coverage by gathering necessary information to ensure policy applicability. Coordinate with internal and external departments as required. Facilitates resolution for possible warranty claims between the vehicle owners and repair facilities when needed.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements during the estimation process. Stay updated with the latest developments in vehicle design, repair techniques, and industry best practices.
Provide independent analysis and differentiation between allegations and facts as it relates to the repair only.
Determine policy obligations by assessing the damage from the loss and comparing it to the facts of loss.
Respond timely to requests for assistance from internal and external customers.
Qualifications
Associates Equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred
Vocational Equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred
Bachelors Preferred
4-6 years Auto physical damage estimation or related experience. Preferred
1-3 years Direct Repair Program management experience. Preferred
Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, parts costs, and labor rates.
Proficient with CCC One estimating.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide coaching and feedback as needed.
Moderate computer and Microsoft Office software skills are required.
General knowledge of negligence and subrogation principles desired.
Solid understanding of vehicle terminology and repair practices.
Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Passionate about excellent customer experience.
Must be able and willing to assist with catastrophe duty when needed.
Valid Driver's License, acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record and minimum liability insurance - Issued by State
