Translational ResearchJob Responsibilities
Assist faculty & staff with the preparation of grants, book chapters, manuscripts, and all other scientific presentation materials (e.g., presentations, posters, abstracts).
Fact-check, clarify text, and prepare figures, such as tables, charts, legends, slides, and posters.
Provide consultation services on research strategies, tactics, and tools.
Deliver scientific, medical, technical, and business research/reference services.
Review books, journals, technical reports, and electronic media relevant to health care needs.

Required Qualifications
Work Experience:
Four years of writing experience in scientific or healthcare area involving publication, grant, or clinical trial writing. Relevant education may substitute on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Journalism, English, Communications, or Life Sciences.
Work Experience:
Five years of writing experience in scientific or healthcare area involving publication, grant, or clinical trial writing.
Experience with medical terminology.
Experience with literature research.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
