Job Description:
Medical Technologist MLT
Full time, 5:30pm-7:00am – 3 days a week with weekend rotations
Prepares, performs and records testing procedures in accordance with established criteria as assigned with any or all the sections of the Clinical Laboratory.
Job Duties
- Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the coordinator.
- Participate in Laboratory Quality program. Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
- Perform tasks at an acceptable pace to ensure the prompt reporting of accurate patient results. Communicates the status of pending work to the on-coming shift.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree of applied science in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science.
Preferred Requirements:
- Certification as MLT (AMT), MLS (ASCP), CLT (NCA) or equivalent preferred.
