Job Description

To perform at the highest level of departmental staff.  Responsible for keeping the department in a continual state of readiness for all accrediting agencies.  Assumes responsibility for training and competency assessment of staff.  Assumes defined managerial duties in the manager's absence.  Performs all duties while adhering to the MUSC standards of behavior.

Additional Job Description

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related medical or scientific discipline.
  • 5 years of work experience as a Medical Technologist in a supervisory, teaching, or consulting capacity.
  • Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent required.
  • Specialist in Blood Bank certification required within one year of hire.
