Performs accurate laboratory testing on blood and body fluids across all complexity levels.
Follows established protocols for specimen collection, processing, analysis, and result reporting.
Communicates results and critical values accurately and in a timely manner.
Performs quality control, equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Ensures compliance with safety, infection control, PPE, and regulatory standards.
Maintains a clean, safe work environment and monitors inventory and supplies.
Participates in quality improvement activities, proficiency testing, and corrective actions.
Supports training, competencies, continuing education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Requirements:
Two years of college with courses pertaining to biology, chemistry in conjunction with completed training in an accredited program of Medical Technology or related science; qualified to take certification tests from ASCP, AMT or equivalent within 1 year.
