Medical Student Clerkship Coordinator

Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for coordination of details and centralized support for the Psychiatry medical student clerkship including scheduling faculty for clerkship activities, coordination and preparation of syllabus, case summaries, examinations, evaluations, grading and other medical student activities related to the department.
Job Description:
Clerkship Coordinator (75%):
- Coordinates the scheduling of Clerkship calendar for third year medical students
- Coordinate with faculty to distribute students on clinical service rotations during their clerkship
- Coordinate with faculty and residents to schedule lectures and examinations
- Prepares syllabus, case summaries and proctors exams
- Correlates grades and other activities associated with the clerkship
- Assists with submitting final grade to Academic and Student Affairs
- Collects data and reports the student evaluations for the rotation
- Provide support to the Medical Education Director in the administration of the medical student program
- Serve as liaison between the program director, faculty, residents, and medical students
- Conduct orientation session for each medical student clerkship, introducing students to their reading assignments, schedules, and their assigned attending faculty, and the grading criteria
- Ensure the proper materials are available to the medical student for each lecture in accordance with copyright guidelines and regulations
- Assist the Program Director with keeping the syllabus and training materials up to date
Continuing Education Coordinator for the department Grand Rounds Program (10%):
- Facilitate committee meetings
- Maintain files in online system on each session in accordance with CME guidelines
- Attend grand rounds events, ensure proper room setup, and facilitate sign in desk
- Check the number of attendees in online system and add any visitors
- Compile and summarize attendee feedback forms
- Present summarized report of attendee feedback to committee
- Coordinate with speakers to gather all required documents for APA / ACCME requirements
- Submit honorarium and speaker reimbursements
- Make travel arrangements and hotel reservations
- Prepare presentation handouts, disclosure documents and evaluations for each session
- Submit publicity information to KUMC Public Affairs, the attendees
- Coordinate review of the presentation with the moderator
- Send thank you and feedback to the speakers
Psychology Training Program Coordinator (10%):
- Assist program directors with recruitment and orientation of new psychology trainees
Department Support (5%):
- Assists with department event planning
- Provides support for department faculty
- Assists in answering departmental phone calls and office coverage

Work Environment
This is an on site position, providing support to faculty and medical students. The position may be eligible for up to 1 day a week remote after a 6 month training period and with supervisor approval.
Required Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma
Work Experience: 3 years administrative duties

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
