The Medical Sales Specialist will act as the primary driver for revenue growth within their assigned territory by selling our comprehensive suite of medical products, equipment, and services. This is a strategic role focused on navigating a competitive landscape to position our portfolio as the preferred choice for healthcare sites. The ideal candidate must move beyond territory maintenance to focus heavily on actively identifying, cultivating, and closing prospective customers, while also serving select existing strategic accounts, developing market plans, and striving to exceed sales targets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Safety & Compliance First: Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and confidentiality requirements while maintaining a professional corporate image. Work safely and meet the requirements of all regulations prescribed by the Company, State, and Federal government.

  • Territory Expansion (Hunting): Aggressively identify, qualify, and solicit prospective customers to increase market penetration and drive margin growth within a competitive landscape.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute comprehensive market strategies based on territory research, competitor data, and understand the GPO landscape and how that can be used during sales.

  • Consultative Selling: Demonstrate the superior value of our medical gas products, equipment, and services to prospects and existing customers, matching solutions specifically to their clinical and operational needs.

  • Account Stewardship: Serve as the primary liaison for assigned accounts, managing the full sales cycle from proposal and pricing to delivery and satisfactory resolution of customer inquiries.

  • Pipeline Discipline: Utilize CRM software skillfully to track all customer interactions, manage the sales pipeline, and generate timely activity and forecast reports for management.

  • Continuous Development: Maintain a professional presence and continuously update product knowledge through company-sponsored training and involvement with outside trade organizations.

  • Fiscal Responsibility: Manage territory expenses effectively to ensure sales objectives are met within established budgets.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required.

  • Proven Track Record: Strong negotiating and consultative selling skills required, backed by a verifiable history of achieving or exceeding assigned sales goals in a competitive environment.

  • Travel Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable, insured personal vehicle for territory travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Product Knowledge: A foundational understanding of medical gas products, regulatory environments, and clinical processes is highly preferred.

  • Industry Sales Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of direct B2B sales experience working specifically for an industrial, medical, or specialty gas supplier is essential.

  • Technical Proficiency: General computer proficiency is required, with specific, disciplined experience using CRM software to manage sales activity. Prior experience with SAP, PowerBI is a plus.

  • Excellent presentation and negotiating and public speaking skills.

  • Knowledge of corresponding geographical areas.

  • Ability to drive and walk considerable distances on a daily basis .

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-starter, self-motivation, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized, ability to achieve goals, ability to focus and pay attention to detail.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations.

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
