Medical Records Retrieval Specialist

The Medical Records Retrieval Specialist/ Risk Adjustment Representative 2 will contact and schedule with provider offices to return medical records. You will include remote access retrieval from larger provider groups and administrative retrieval tasks. You will report to the Supervisor, Risk Adjustment Administration.

As the the Medical Records Retrieval Specialist ensures accurate and supported clinical documentation within the health record. Follow state and federal regulations and internal guidelines while analyzing medical records.

  • Schedule retrieval appointments and gain commitments from physician offices, efficient manner to meet all deadlines
  • Remote access record retrieval with electronic systems
  • Research claims and provider information for accurate retrieval
  • Travel up to 40% of the time and will consist of driving to locations close to your home, and driving to locations. Use a laptop computer and a portable scanner and encrypted flash drive to retrieve medical records which will be uploaded into a database

Required Qualifications

  • 1 or more years of Healthcare Telephonic experience

  • Live in the Lexington, KY area

  • Microsoft Word and Excel

  • 1 or more years Demonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications, which includes keyboard and navigation skills

  • Reliable vehicle transportation

  • This job is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits and requires running a Motor Vehicle Report as part of the background check process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system

  • Medical Record retrieval experience

  • 1 or more years of Medical Record and/or health information experience

Additional Information

  • Monday-Friday hours range between 8am- 5pm

  • This position requires 40% travel to provider offices

  • You will be Hybrid work at home and traveling to provider offices

Work at Home

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
