Loyola Medicine, a nationally recognized academic health system and member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Support Assistant to join our collaborative and mission-driven team.
Summary:
An entry level, in person position. The role involves walking the hospital floors to collect medical charts daily. Once the files have been collected, the medical records are uploaded into the electronic system. Any corrections, missing documentation or questions must be resolved by reaching out to the medical staff to clarify.
What you’ll do:
Perform a variety of HIM functions, including identity management, record retrieval, data integrity, and quality audits
Serve as a liaison for offsite vendors, external auditors, and physician/provider support
Manage record requests, mail distribution, and telephone coverage
Identify and resolve duplicate medical records and patient identity errors
Monitor documentation deficiency tracking and provider compliance
Perform documentation audits in alignment with Joint Commission standards
Ensure patient privacy and HIPAA compliance in all duties
What you’ll need:
High School Diploma required.
1–2 years of medical records experience (3–5 years preferred)
Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Preferred: Experience with EPIC and HIM-related certifications (CCS, RHIT, RHIA)
Strong communication, organization, and confidentiality skills

Compensation:
Pay Range: $15.96 - $22.98 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
