Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Ensures medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete.
Files and/or scan paperwork and reports in EHR and or paper charts
Ensure files are stored in the designated area according to storage procedures.
Responsible for safeguarding patient records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
Responds to requests for patient records, both within the facility and by external sources, retrieving them and transmitting them appropriately.
Retrieves medical records from offsite chart storage facilities when needed.
Ensures legal requests are communicated effectively to the legal department.
Issue medical files to persons and agencies according to laws and regulations.
Help with departmental audits and investigations.
Complete clerical duties including answering phones, responding to emails, and processing patient admission and discharge records.
Works with front desk receptionist with auditing records in regard to communication of intake documents needed for patients scheduled daily.
Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)
Knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems
HS Diploma required
Preferred
. Bilingual Spanish
. Associates preferred
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (9am-5pm).
Pay Rate: $17.29 hourly
