About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our Brisbane Northside Emergency team on a casual basis. You will be an integral part of the team that is passionate about making a difference to the lives of those you care for, while making a positive contribution to the overall standard of care delivered.

St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside is an acute tertiary private Catholic hospital. We are known for our comprehensive critical care, as well as inpatient and day patient services across a diverse range of medical and surgical disciplines. Our hospital has 227 beds, 9 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter laboratories, a 17-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Day Oncology Unit, Breast Health Centre, Endoscopy Unit, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and a 24-hour, private emergency centre provided by Brisbane Northside Emergency.   Our specialties include breast health, cancer care, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and orthopaedics.

Things that work for us:

  • Flexibility to integrate into a 24-hour roster, day/evening/night shifts is essential

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Medical Receptionist, or similar role.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications

  • An understanding of medical terminology preferable

  • The ability to professionally liaise with colleagues, patients, visitors, and medical professionals.

  • The ability to maintain a high level or of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Excellent telephone manner.

  • Attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.

  • The ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively within a team environment.
