Description:

This position oversees the operations, services, and strategic development of the hospitals, medical library. This role ensures clinicians, residents, medical students, and staff have access to high-quality information resources to support evidence-based patient care, research, and medical education. The Medical Library Coordinator provides leadership in resource management, information delivery, and instructional support. Additionally, the position plays a critical role in meeting ACGME accreditation requirements for residency programs and advancing scholarly activity across the organization. The librarian is responsible for library planning to meet the changing needs of the Medical Center, for increasing awareness of library services, responsible for developing and maintaining resource collections including print and electronic books, journals, and databases and other Internet/Intranet resources, for assisting and training physicians, staff, students, and others with computer-based health resources, and for coordinating the daily activities of the Medical Library.

REQUIREMENTS

1.Two (2) years of experience working in a medical library preferred.

2. Master's degree in Library Science from a school accredited by the American Library Association is required.
3. Experience with the PubMed database and health resources on the Internet is required.

4. Solid understanding of clinician information needs and evidence-based practice standards.
5. Certification by the Medical Library Association's Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) is preferred.
6. Instructional experience and experience with social media to enhance library services are preferred.

7. Experience with management of electronic resources, including website updates, is preferred.

8. Experience supporting residency programs is preferred.

Pay Range ($45.50 - $68.27)
