Description:
- Coordinates daily operation and staff assignment within the Laboratory.
- May assume interim responsibility in the event of the manager's absence.
- Provides clinical and technical direction as well as providing input in performance reviews of technical laboratory staff.
- Performs diagnostic testing in all Laboratory Subspecialties.
- Assists manager in a variety of tasks, including the following: Laboratory Information system operations, budget development, analysis of budgetary performance and variances, productivity management, recruitment and hiring of staff, new staff orientation, implementation and follow through with the corrective action process, ensuring compliance of staff with identified clinical skill development, competencies, regulatory practice guidelines, performance improvement activities, data collection/analysis, product design, operationalization of departmental and institutional policies and procedures, preparation for the compliance with regulatory agencies, identifying program development needs and assisting in their implementation, and representing the Laboratory.
General Requirements:
Education: Associate's Degree
Preferred: MLT (ASCP) or equivalent
Experience: More than 1 year experience required
