About Our Pediatric Critical Care Program
Unit Specifications
- Bed Capacity: 16-bed combined Pediatric/Critical Care unit
- Patient Population: Medical and general surgical pediatric patients (no post-operative cardiac surgery)
- No Teaching Requirements: Only clinical and administrative focus
Advanced Capabilities & Services
- Advanced mechanical ventilation strategies
- Comprehensive procedural services (intubation, central lines, chest tubes, etc.)
- Pediatric sedation services
- Critical care consultation to pediatric emergency department
- Close collaboration with on-site pediatric subspecialists
Note: We do not currently offer ECMO or CRRT services.

Program Transition & Growth Opportunity
This position represents a pivotal moment in our unit's evolution. We are transitioning from a contracted physician group to an Endeavor-employed model, and the Medical Director will play a central role in:
- Designing the optimal coverage model for our unit
- Recruiting and building a cohesive pediatric intensivist physician team
- Establishing clinical protocols and best practices
- Shaping the future direction of the program
Schedule Structure
- Clinical Schedule: To be determined collaboratively with the Medical Director and incoming team
- Call Structure: Night call from home
- Protected Administrative Time: Dedicated time allocated for leadership responsibilities
- Flexibility: Input into scheduling model and work-life balance priorities
Current Support
- Pediatric Hospitalists: 24/7 in-house coverage with intensive care experience
- Neonatology: In-house 24/7
- No APP Coverage: Direct physician-led care model
Experience & Leadership
- Preferred: Post-fellowship experience in pediatric critical care
- Preferred: Demonstrated leadership experience or interest in leadership development
- Preferred: Experience in program development or quality improvement
- Required: Commitment to building and growing a community pediatric critical care program
- Preferred: Experience in community pediatric intensive care settings

Qualifications:
Minimum Education Level
- Required: Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency
- Required: Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship
Minimum Licensure Requirements
- Eligible for medical licensing in the State of Illinois.
Minimum Certification Requirements
- Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Required: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Required: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Board certification/Board eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care.
Minimum Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in area of expertise in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Endeavor Health is seeking an experienced, board-certified Pediatric Intensivist to serve as Medical Director, Pediatric Critical Care at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to build and shape a growing program as we transition to an Endeavor-employed physician group model.
The Medical Director will provide strategic vision, clinical leadership, and day-to-day oversight of our 16-bed Pediatric unit while maintaining an active clinical practice. This role offers protected administrative time and the unique opportunity to design the coverage model and help establish best practices for our expanding program.
