Minimum Qualifications:
High School, GED or formal educational equivalent
Current BLS
Completion of Accredited Medical Assistant training program
Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an ambulatory care setting
One (1) or more years of MA experience
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Takes and records vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height/weight).
Obtains and documents patient medical histories.
Prepares patients for exams and procedures.
Assists providers (physicians, nurses, midwives) during exams and minor procedures.
Collects lab specimens (blood, urine, etc.) and ensure proper handling.
Supports specialized services like prenatal/genetic screening in women’s health.
Monitors patients and report changes in condition to nursing staff.
Greets patients and assist with check-in/check-out Schedule and register appointments using clinic systems.
Verifies insurance coverage and collect payments.
Maintains accurate electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
Prepares and cleans exam/treatment rooms.
Ensures adequate medical supplies and equipment are stocked.
Observes and reports safety concerns or hazards.
Assists with patient flow and coordination of care.
Supports team members and act as a resource within the department.
May perform other duties as assigned.
