Job Description Summary:

MaineGeneral is hiring a per diem Medical Assistant to join our Maine Dartmouth Family Practice team! We are looking for a personable, detail-oriented MA who is passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centered care. In this role, you’ll support our providers and clinical staff by assisting with exams and procedures, coordinating patient flow, and helping ensure our patients have a positive and seamless experience. Job Description:

Position: Medical Assistant

Location: Thayer Center for Health, Waterville
Schedule: Per diem

Shift:  Days (M-F)

What You'll Do:

  • Assists with collecting statistics and prepares the patient for a visit with medical staff.
  • Assists with basic diagnostic procedures and performs specimen collection as required. Communicates observed changes in patient condition to medical staff for assessment. Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
  • Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, scribing, data entry, prior authorization, and patient registration.

  • Positive attitude and team-oriented!  

  • Proficiency in a suite of Microsoft Office applications and multiple computer applications

  • Ability to work independently, effectively manage time and multiple priorities, and problem-solve within a team setting

  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

  • Confident and effective oral and written communication skills

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Previous Work Experience: Work experience as a Medical Assistant

  • Certification: Certified by an accredited Medical Assistant program

  • Education: Possession of an associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited school
